Vintage Wittnauer 1003-W100 Watch
Wittanuer is an American watch brand founded in 1880 by a Swiss immigrant, Alber Wittnauer. 70s funk at it’s prime. The dial and bakelite bezel are in excellent condition. Watch is running great and ready to wear. A rare timepiece, this is vintage Wittnauer diver automatic wristwatch, reference 1003-W100. This watch was released in the 1970s as a collaboration between Wittnauer and Seiko.
It is a self-winding watch powered by a Wittnauer Watch Co. movement, caliber W100 (702N), 17 jewels, sweep second, day/date indicator, unadjusted, Japan made.
Very unique and attractive with funky qualities. The original two-tone black and blue dial features gray, orange, and silver color accents design, luminous hour markers, silver/luminous matching hands and white sweep second hand. The day/date indicator is located at 3 o’clock. The dial is also signed with the Wittnauer name and Automatic.
This watch is cased in a 37.5mm cushion all stainless-steel case. It also features a bidirectional rotating bakelite bezel with orange and black accents and luminous triangle top position –Original signed Wittnauer crown. The finest example ever surfaced for sale.
